Science
Scope A semi-annual forum on a headline topic in biomedical science. Fifth
and sixth grade science teachers are invited to hear about the hottest topics
in scientific research - directly from the men and women who are conducting that
research! Twice a year, BOOST will bring accomplished, dynamic experts to present
on topics ranging from gene therapy and lasers, to biomedical engineering and
regeneration of bones and nerves. These interactive presentations will include
question-and-answer time, as well as small group sessions to discuss how to creatively
teach this new information. Science Scope will be held Duke on Saturdays from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is provided; teachers will be compensated for this time.
