Durham Police have stepped up their coverage of neighborhoods near East Campus, and Duke Police have committed to support city officers near campus. Duke also set up a satellite office for campus police in Erwin Mill near Ninth Street and continues to support neighborhood anti-gang activities, such as the Walltown Neighborhood Ministries Street Reach. Through the partnership's affordable housing effort, two Durham police officers were able to buy homes in Walltown.
