A team of Duke undergraduates, staff, local authors, and community members have committed their imaginations and unique skills to develop the Mariposa Stories project. Through a bilingual pre-kindergarten book series and accompanying oral history podcast, the Mariposa Stories project will capture the Latino experience in Durham, North Carolina. Our goal is to increase English and Spanish reading skills in young children through books they can relate to, as well as show different facets of life in Durham for the Latino community through audio histories.
