Community organizations looking for project support should consider hosting a Duke Ph.D. summer intern. Examples of projects could include: designing curricula, analyzing policy and market forces, or project planning with data.

The Duke University Provost’s Office, in collaboration with the Office of Durham and Community Affairs, is offering matched financial support for Ph.D. students hosted by organizations over Summer 2022. Triangle nonprofit organizations that require assistance funding internships may request increased support through the Duke Office of Durham and Community Affairs. For more information on whether your Triangle-based nonprofit is eligible please contact Sandra MartinezZuniga, sandra.martinezzuniga@duke.edu, senior program coordinator for civic engagement at the Office of Durham and Community Affairs.

Projects must offer students research-focused opportunities that enrich their studies, and proposals must match with a student applicant. For more information about proposal and internship hosting requirements, visit the information page: Support for External Organizations to Host Duke Ph.D. Student Summer Internships.
