America 250: The Future of American Democracy with Mitt Romney

Join the Sanford School of Public Policy to hear Dean JR DeShazo speak in conversation with Mitt Romney, former U.S. senator from Utah, governor of Massachusetts, and 2012 Republican presidential nominee. As the United States marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Romney will reflect on the health of American democracy, the values that have sustained the nation, and the responsibilities citizens and leaders share in shaping its future. Romney will speak at Duke as part of the Sanford Lecture Series. Endowed by the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, this prestigious lecture is open to the public and the entire Duke University campus. The lecture series intends to promote engaged and enlightened leadership. The lectures are held in honor of the late Terry Sanford, a bold leader who served as North Carolina governor, U.S. senator, president of Duke University, and founder of the Sanford School of Public Policy.
