Service Opportunities in Leadership (SOL) Information Session

The Hart Leadership Program challenges students to practice the art of leadership in public life. Applications are now open for several experiential learning programs that aim to shape Duke undergraduates for reflective, ethical leadership. Our core programs involve training both inside and outside the classroom through experiential education, pedagogical preparation, reflective practice, a strong community of peers, and an aspiration to public purpose.
Service Opportunities in Leadership (SOL) is a Fellowship opportunity open to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd students of any major who seek to deepen their capacity to build community, address complex social issues, and implement systemic change. SOL Fellows take a spring semester gateway course (PubPol 263: Leading In and With Community), receive funding for an intensive 8-week summer experience with a community partner, and complete a capstone seminar (PubPol 415: Communities of Practice). Applications open on Wednesday, September 3rd.
A SOL information session will be held on Wednesday, September 10th at 5:30 PM in Sanford 223.
