The Triangle Economics of Education Workshop will bring together scholars to present and discuss empirical research on the economics of education. This workshop, scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM on May 13th, will be held at the Sanford School of Public Policy, in room 04 on Duke's West Campus.
This free event, which is co-sponsored by the Duke Center for Child and Family Policy, Stata, and the Department of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will be held in person only. The target audience is researchers and faculty who have an interest in education and economics. Registration is required. Please view the conference program online for more information.
This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Jordan Matsudaira, a Professor at the School of Public Affairs at American University. He is also a Nonresident Fellow at the Urban Institute in Washington, DC, a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and Philadelphia, and the co-director of the PEER Center-a research and policy action laboratory aimed at working with policy makers and institution leaders, bringing insights from academic research and rigorous data analysis to assist with challenging policy and intervention design initiatives.
His research focuses on using government administrative data to understand the causal impact of education and labor market policies and institutions on the economic outcomes of low-income Americans.
