Burch Avenue: Garden Rejuvenation

With support from 41 community volunteers donating 53 hours of volunteer time, Burch Avenue Neighborhood Association improved the Burch Avenue Community Garden so that it could continue to be a space that serves the community.

The goal to refresh the garden was met through repairing the fence, nourishing the soil, purchasing garden tools and implementing gathering tools such as additional tables and a neighborhood message board. This project allowed for strengthening of connections amongst neighbors working toward their goal and yielded garden upgrades that will serve approximately 115 people over the course of a year. The rejuvenation of this space will offer continued opportunities for neighbors to pursue physical and mental health as well as provide social connection.
