National Volunteer Week kicks off April 18, and Duke’s Office of Durham and Regional Affairs wants to help the Duke community take part: From April 18 to May 25, the DukeConnects Challenge will engage employees from across campus in a friendly competition to complete and record volunteer hours.
You’ll find all the tools you need to participate at community.duke.edu/volunteer. First take stock of upcoming volunteer events, discover which local organizations need your help, and find other fun ways to give back. Once you’ve volunteered, create a DukeConnects profile — either as an individual or as a department — to log your hours, share your story and even upload photos.
At the end of the Challenge, the department and the single employee with the most hours logged each will be featured in DukeToday and will win a special prize courtesy of the Duke-Durham Campaign. Your profile will remain a convenient way to continue keeping track of your volunteer contributions and sharing your volunteer stories in the long term.
