Neighboring institutions partner to fuel creativity and bring good ideas forward
Corporal Jack Wagstaff formerly served as the liaison between the Durham Police Department and Durham Neighborhoods United, an organization of neighbors experiencing problems from party houses.
Regional Spelling Bee winner, Cana Gerald-Hasan, was featured on NPR’s The Takeaway, titled “Black Girl Magic at the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee.”
Durham Children’s Initiative supports underserved families from “cradle to college or employment.” The program first assisted Tiffaney White’s younger children, but ultimately it helped her entire family reach their goals.
Duke Homebuyers Club helps employees become first-time home buyers
Duke features several community engagement programs that persevered through the pandemic, including the MaryAnn Black Summer Internship Program.
