Afterschool Corps VISTA – Readiness Programs Specialist
Schehaerazade "Zareah" Gentavis serves as the AmeriCorps VISTA for Education Programming with Duke Community Affairs. She earned her B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and her M.A. in International Studies from North Carolina State University. Passionate about global engagement and community impact, Zareah supports educational initiatives that connect Duke students with local youth through programs such as America Reads America Counts and Leap 2 School. She brings experience in higher education, including international student services, graduate admissions, and career development, and is dedicated to fostering inclusive opportunities for learning and service. Zareah aspires to continue her work in international human rights advocacy, focusing on empowering marginalized communities worldwide.
