There are many ways we are Doing Good together
Duke partnered with the City and County to provide loans and grants to small businesses coping with the pandemic beginning last summer. Duke contributed $1M toward grants to small businesses focusing on sole proprietorships, and women- and minority-owned businesses. Read the city's program update report.
Formed as the pandemic ramped up earlier this year, LATIN-19 built connections, spread information and looks ahead with hope.
In partnership with the City of Durham, Self Help, SunTrust/Truist, NC Community Development Initiative, Duke contributed $3M to enable small and nonprofit developers to build affordable housing units in Durham.
Through a joint partnership with DHIC and partners, Self-Help, the City of Durham and AJ Fletcher Foundation, Duke's 2.5M contribution helped create 82 new affordable units.
Thousands of people have been able to safely stay at home and still have their basic needs met thanks to a partnership between the state, community-based organizations and Duke.
