Help fulfill the holiday wish lists of Durham families this season by signing up for Project Share.
Project Share, a 40-year-old Duke holiday tradition, is a partnership between the Duke Community Service Center, Volunteer Center of Durham and Durham County Department of Social Services. Every year, the project aims to help about 300 Durham residents in need, from adults to babies.
Duke students, employees and departments can sign up to either sponsor a family in need or make a direct donation to the program, which will help the Duke Community Service Center purchase gifts like clothing, toys, blankets and toiletries.
“Every year, Project Share invokes the holiday spirit of giving,” said Domoniqúe Redmond, assistant director for programs at the Duke Community Service Center. “There are families here in the Durham area that need help, and the holidays is a great time to give back to our neighbors in need.”
